Death appeared in the Cult in order to take Kudamon's soul. Death's son, Pink Death, had joined the cult and counted it as payment for Kudamon's debt. Death didn't like this and took Kuda's soul anyway. After a convoluted rescue, Kudamon escaped. Pink Death came to Death and offered his immortality in place of Kuda's soul. Death accepted and as an added punishment, made Pink Death a girl. Death hasn't been around since.
